Greater Noida Carnival 2019 - Ideathon Contest

Background

The UN Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Cities initiative has selected Noida and Greater Noida to participate in the 'University City' category, as the only invitee from India and they will be competing with elite university cities such as Cambridge, Palo Alto and Heidelberg, among others. Overall, 25 cities across the world have been selected in five categories.

Purpose

While the overarching objective of the initiative is to facilitate an inclusive approach to overall development (“Make Greater Noida a Happy and Smart City”), the specific purpose is to invite ideas/suggestions from citizens as well as from entities like NGOs and Universities.

It is believed that selecting and implementing appropriate suggestions from such submissions, coming from the beneficiaries themselves, would go a long way in improving not just the quality of life, but also the trust and relationship between GNIDA and the citizens.
